Skydiving Gift Ideas

Skydivers will never stop wanting the next best thing. Whether they’re into taking videos of their jumps, wanting to improve their canopy skills, or just wanted to upgrade their setup – here are the best gifts for skydivers.

What Does a Skydiver Need? Money, Honey!

Let’s be real – the easiest and most universally-loved skydiving gift is pretty simple: money.

Skydivers are always chasing new experiences – more jumps, advanced training, and better gear. A little cash can help fund boogie registration fees, coaching sessions, or those inevitable “just one more jump” weekends. When in doubt, a little cash towards their personal skydiving stash is always appreciated!

Skydiving Tech Gifts

Techy gifts are a great way to show your skydiver that you care and that you’re listening to their needs – and maybe giving them something they haven’t thought about before! Here are some tech-savvy gift ideas for your skydiver:

  • FlySight GPS Trackers: If they are focusing on canopy piloting, wingsuit flying, or speed – the FlightSight GPS is a great way to track their speed and glide performance on each jump. It’s a fantastic training tool and can play a crucial role in improving their skills.
  • AirTags: As you might have already discovered – skydiving gear is expensive! You can help your skydiver keep track of their gear with smart tags, like Apple AirTags. They can be attached to helmets, gear bags, and rigs to ensure nothing gets lost during a busy day at the dropzone or when traveling to other dropzones for special events.
  • GoPro Cameras: The most sought after camera is currently the GoPro HERO13 Black, however, slightly older models are excellent options as well. Just a heads up – skydivers need at least 200 jumps to legally fly with a camera. Buuuut … even if your skydiver doesn’t have 200 jumps yet, it could be motivation for them to get there!

Skydiving Gear Gifts

Gear gifts for a skydiver can not only enhance their experience during their jump but can increase their safety – win-win! If you’re looking to make a BIG impression, here are some gear gifts you can get:

  • Jumpsuit: Jumpsuits are tailored for different disciplines and can really make a difference during freefall. Popular jumpsuit brands are Tonfly, LiquidSky, and TonySuits.
  • Helmet: Skydiver helmets come in different styles – either full-face or open-face. Cookie is a popular brand for full-face helmets, while Tonfly carries the most popular open-face helmets.
  • Altimeters: A solid altimeter is a safety essential for skydivers. Digital models like the Alti-2 N3 are the modern way to go, although there are analog options as well. If your skydiver is a freeflyer, choosing an audible altimeter like the LB Optima 3 might be your best bet.
  • Gear Bags: Skydivers can accrue a lot of gear, so having a place to store it all for safe-keeping makes it easy for them to grab and go to the dropzone before last load!
  • Pull-Up Cords & Packing Tools: These small items make a big impact on packing parachutes and make for perfect stocking stuffers!
  • Logbooks: These books help keep a record of each skydive, which can be a requirement at certain dropzones to prove you know your stuff! A logbook is an especially wonderful gift for a skydiver-in-training as it’s usually the first thing a skydiver purchases in their career.

You’re in luck! Here at Oklahoma Skydiving Center, we have our very own gear store and carry many of the industry’s best manufacturers. We are dealers for United Parachute Technologies (UPT), Mirage Systems, Precision Aerodynamics, Aerodyne, Performance Designs, Tony Suits, Squirrel Wingsuits, and more – which means we can help you pick out your new or used skydiving equipment locally at the best prices!

Skydiving Apparel & Accessory Gifts

Not every skydiving gift needs to involve actual freefallin’ – sometimes it’s just about celebrating the lifestyle.

One thing about skydivers is that they love to talk about skydiving! Which is why skydivers love fun, thoughtful, and creative gifts that let them show off their passion – especially if it supports a fellow skydiver friend.

  • Custom Jerseys: Skydivers love to show off their personal style and designing a custom jersey is a great way to do that on the ground while also staying aerodynamic in the skies. ChutingStar and Manufactory Apparel both offer customizable jerseys for you to design uniquely to your skydiver.
  • Gloves: Skydiving gloves are a good, affordable option – especially for colder months.
  • Gaiters/Buffs: Skydiving neck gaiters or buffs are a great budget-friendly option that your skydiver will love and is especially a great gift for our long-haired friends. Every skydiver needs a new neck gaiter replacement every now and then after the stink becomes too brutal!
  • Skydiving Shoes: A fresh pair of skydiving kicks like Vans, Nike, or Five Ten is a practical and multi-purpose gift idea that your skydiver will love on the ground and in the skies.
  • Swoop Pants: Whether your skydiver is a swooper or not, swoop pants are ideal for those hot, summer months when you still want the protection and drag without the extra layer of heat.
  • Skydiver Owned Business: If you really want to “wow” your skydiver, purchasing a beautifully handmade parachute hammock or bag from Levity Reimagined, or a freefall fanny pack from Down Low Gear, is a great way to give a thoughtful gift while also supporting the skydiving community.

The Best Gift of All

After all the gear lists and wish lists, here’s the truth: the best gift for a skydiver is your support (and listening ear). Whether you’re buying them a skydive, helping with gear, or simply being excited when they tell you about their jump – your support matters the most.

So, skip the corny skydiving T-shirts on Amazon and give your skydiver what they really want – more skydives! Purchase a gift certificate online or give us a call if you need help. Blue skies and happy holiday gifting!
